My mouth is watering already for these Instant Pot Spicy Orange BBQ Meatballs! Serve them over white rice for a complete meal the whole family will be happy with! They are not a 5-alarm fire level of spicy, but just enough kick that your taste buds will wake up!

Instant Pot Spicy Orange BBQ Meatballs

The Instant Pot Spicy Orange BBQ Meatballs are a favorite in our house! We like to eat them as a meal over rice, but you could totally serve them as an appetizer, or even a side. This is an awesome way to add in a variation on meatballs into your menu planning, so that it isn’t always just the same old spaghetti and meatballs!

Don’t worry too much about the name “spicy” as you can adjust the heat with your amount of cayenne pepper.  That way, if your family likes minimal heat, just decrease the cayenne pepper or if you can’t get enough heat in your foods, just add another pinch or two more!

Having two young boys around, I don’t always have time to make homemade meatballs, so I used frozen turkey meatballs with this recipe to save myself time and hassle.  You can always use any type meatball instead of turkey meatballs, based on what your family likes!  You can easily change up pretty much anything in this recipe and that’s what makes this so awesome!

If you are looking for another delicious spin on meatballs, make sure you check out the Instant Pot Sweet and Sour Meatballs!

To make these meatballs really spectacular, you will be flavoring them with a combination of orange marmalade, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey hickory BBQ sauce, and cayenne pepper to get that amazing hint of sweet and spicy!  You can literally put all of this together and be ready to serve in about 10 minutes start to finish (not counting the Instant Pot coming to pressure)!  I don’t know about your household schedule, but ours is crazy busy.  So, any time I can do dinner in about 10 minutes is a big bonus win for me!

Anytime I use my Instant Pot to cook these, the amazing smell from the pressure release seeps into our house!  If he hasn’t already, my son will come running to check out what’s for dinner. Usually it’s met with a bunch of moans, but with these, I get ” I smell something good!” and then he will hurry to help set the table. Being that he’s only 5, that’s saying something.

These Instant Pot Spicy BBQ Meatballs are a perfect weeknight dinner when you just don’t have the time to work away over the stove. They are also a really great option for potlucks. While this particular recipe serves 8 (3 meatballs each), you could easily double or triple it for a larger group, or even make some to freeze for future use! Just serve these with a side of dipping sauce (sauce from the pot) for a fun crowd pleasing appetizer. And, if you happen to have any leftovers, you can easily reheat them to enjoy again!
