How to Make Air Fryer Crab Rangoon
Even though making crab rangoons might look tough, the process is actually fun and addictive!
Step 1: Mix the ingredients
Mix the cream cheese, crab meat, green onion (scallion), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and lime juice in a bowl.
Step 2: Fill the wonton wrappers
It’s time to make the crab rangoon. Brush one side of the wonton wrapper with oil, fill it with the crab mixture and make sure that it gets a good seal. Make sure to try to keep the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper so you can seal it effectively.
Step 3: Air Fry
Place the sealed crab rangoons in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes of time.
Variations / Options / Add-Ins
Add a bit of sugar: If you really want to sweeten up the crab rangoon, add a tad bit of sugar to the mix!
Red pepper flakes: If you want a little more spice, mix in a a dash of red pepper flakes to the crab mixture.
Chives: If you want a smoother taste or just aren’t a fan of green onion, use a tsp of chives instead.
Garlic powder: Don’t like garlic? Leave it out! You can use onion powder instead.
Use flavored oil to seal and cook: If you have flavored oil at home, this is great for adding to the outside of the wonton wrapper. It really enhances the flavors.
Serving Suggestions
I’m a huge fan of dipping this into the sweet chili dipping sauce but my kids swear by dumping soy sauce on top! Do what makes you and your tastebuds happy.
Tips
Be sure to not overcrowd the crab rangoons while they’re cooking in the air fryer. There needs to be room for the air to circulate and move around.
Place the sealed crab rangoon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper while you cook them in batches. It will keep them from sticking to the counter while you wait to cook them.
FAQs
How to store
Since this batch of crab rangoons is pretty big, you may find that you have some leftovers. Just store them in an airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to eat. If you want to throw them in the freezer because you don’t plan on eating them sooner rather than later, you can do that as well.
How to reheat
I like to reheat them in the air fryer for a few minutes as it brings back that crisp! A microwave is fine too but they’re not going to be crispy at that point in time.
