Instant Pot Spaghetti Sauce
- Instant Pot meat sauce delivers gourmet flavor in under an hour!
- Minced beef gives it that authentic Italian flair, but it’s simple to sub ground beef, too!
- This recipe makes a big batch, perfect for make-ahead meals, and it can be frozen, too!
Ingredients and Variations
Beef – Use any kind of beef roast or steak, or feel free to substitute ground meat or even air fryer meatballs to save some cash. Or use a mixture of ground pork and ground beef for amazing flavor! (Diced chicken will give a completely different flavor profile to the sauce!)
Tomatoes – Canned whole tomatoes will cook down into a delicious sauce with the aid of tomato paste, for real homemade flavor! But feel free to use a jar of sauce, or even to add in a fresh tomato from the garden or refrigerator- just dice and cook in step 5.
Garlic – Plenty of garlic makes this dish shine! To mince, smash the garlic with the side of a knife, remove the peel, then chop finely.
Wine- Red wine adds depth of flavor and the alcohol cooks off, but feel free to leave it out or substitute beef broth, unsweetened cranberry juice, or even pomegranate juice.
How to Make Instant Pot Spaghetti Sauce
An Instant Pot and a few simple ingredients are all it takes:

- Add the beef and brown it, then turn off the “saute” setting.
- Add the whole garlic cloves and the remainder of the ingredients.
- Secure the lid, set the Instant Pot to the “meat/stew” setting, and cook (per recipe below).
Storing Spaghetti Sauce
- Keep meat sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 days.
- To extend the shelf life, add sauce to containers and freeze. Use within 3-4 months to prevent freezer burn.
- To reheat, defrost in the refrigerator overnight and warm slowly on the stovetop, or use it right from frozen in any of your favorite recipes that call for a delicious meat sauce!
