Favorite Instant Pot Ham
- Ham in the Instant Pot is easy and foolproof, just set and forget until it’s ready to enjoy in just 30 minutes.
- Simple ingredients deliver abundant flavor. Orange juice, brown sugar, and mustard make a zesty, citrusy glaze that turns salty ham into a culinary masterpiece.
- Ham is super versatile and can be used in dishes from casseroles to soups.
4 Simple Ingredients
Ham – For the best flavor, use a bone-in ham with a layer of fat on the surface to ensure juiciness and allow the glaze to caramelize. A pre-cooked spiral-cut honey ham is reliably delicious and convenient for serving, but you might want to cut back on the sugar in the glaze.
Orange Juice – Frozen orange juice is fine, or use freshly squeezed. Substitute apple or pineapple juice if you prefer.
Mustard – Dijon mustard has the best flavor for a ham glaze. Switch it out for mustard powder, or your favorite prepared mustard.
Brown Sugar – Salty and sweet is an irresistible flavor combination; use brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup. These will not only enhance the flavor of ham but will meld with the proteins to create a mouthwatering sticky brown glaze.
Variations – Spice up your ham to your preference. Get creative with allspice or cinnamon. Go with a classic favorite by covering the surface with fresh or canned pineapple slices and stud the surface with whole cloves, or add a touch of powdered cloves to the glaze mixture.
